TFH Legal congratulates Otto Feil, Taylor Harper and Celeste McCollough in obtaining finality on a judgment rendered in our clients’ favor in a hotly contested defamation case that Otto and Taylor tried to a jury in July 2017 and won. The case was appealed thereafter by the defendant to the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Otto tragically, however, suffered a debilitating stroke before the appellate brief was due and Celeste McCollough graciously and expertly stepped in to help write the briefs in the Court of Appeals, which affirmed the jury verdict and judgment without opinion. After the affirmance of the judgment in our clients’ favor in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the defendant filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari in the Georgia Supreme Court.
Celeste continued to help with the response to the Petition for Cert, which was denied on November 4, 2019. It has taken well over two years to get to this point for our clients, but the Firm congratulates Celeste, Otto and Taylor on the hard work and result in this case!
