Brian N. Heinze

Brian N. Heinze is an Attorney working in all facets of the firm, with a focus on beverage alcohol and corporate matters.

The beverage-alcohol industry has been highly regulated since the days following the repeal of Prohibition, and Brian thoroughly enjoys helping clients venture through the tricky web of laws and regulations on the federal, state, and local levels. Since running or starting up a business can be daunting enough, Brian aims to make your life easier by helping you and your business navigate those legal and regulatory waters. If you are looking to obtain a beverage-alcohol license or permit, Brian can help ensure that it is acquired as efficiently as possible. In addition, he can also help you and your business regarding corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and review, and raising capital while considering relevant Securities laws.

Brian earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 2016, where he honed his research skills on various corporate and financial topics, including on how to help startup businesses obtain the necessary capital required to run their businesses and also over various financial-investment models, such as hedge funds, venture capital, and other institutional investors. While raising money for your business is key, Brian also strongly believes that in order to best protect his clients’ interests, it’s equally important to understand the key players in those financial markets. In addition to his academic work at Georgia State, Brian was also fortunate enough to be elected to represent his class as a 3L Senator on the GSU Student Bar Association, where he organized numerous events for both the students and the faculty.

Prior to attending law school, Brian graduated with a degree in political science from the Honors College of the University of West Georgia, where he also played as a kicker on the football team during his freshman year. During his undergraduate studies, Brian was a recipient of multiple honors, including the Tom Herndon Award as the most outstanding political science major for the year, the Pershing Award for service to the university, and as a member of the Dean’s List for several semesters. In addition, Brian is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.

Brian also has experience in the Georgia state legislature, as he worked as a legal extern to the education committee and as intern to the Speaker Pro Tempore Jan Jones. During both of those legislative sessions at the State Capitol, Brian was heavily involved with the passage of Georgia Constitutional amendments, involving the state’s education policy, that eventually passed both houses and were signed by the Governor.

Aside from Brian’s love of the law, he is also a huge sports fan. Whether it’s football, basketball, ice hockey, or soccer, you will frequently find Brian playing and watching sports. Brian also has a strong belief in giving back to the community, and whether during his time in law school or at West Georgia, he has placed a strong priority on community service and helping others through volunteer work.
